Medium: A Barrier in the Education of Students

Governmental schools’ students are facing hurdles due to sudden change of medium after matric. Students become vexed and anxious for their career when they pass matric, the medium gets changed into English and it becomes a dilemma for the students to understand English medium.

Moreover, some of the students quit their education after matric as they say we can not understand and read English. The students are indigent who cannot afford to read in English Language Centers and their destitute parents burn the midnight oil in order to send their offspring to schools to know something and live a prosperous life. But it hurts me to pen down that their parents’ ambitions, wishes for their children become a dream because after matric Urdu medium gets meaningless. Other all institutions and every kind of test are in English. Additionally, governmental schools' medium also should get changed into English so that it should get changed not become hard for them to read ahead and accomplish the goals; in addition, language has become a barrier for most of the students’ education. I plead to the government of Pakistan and concerned authorities to review the policy and to convert the medium into English of governmental schools in order not to vanish the desires of necessitous students and their parents.
