The famous poet was born on 1 November 1939, in Singanisar, a small town in Turbat Kech. His real name was Muhammad Ishaq and his pen name was Shad. He received his primary education from Government High School, Matriculation from Panjgur High School in 1956, FA in 1959 from Government College Turbat and graduated in 1962 from Government College Quetta.
Shad became famous when people started reading and praising his poetry. During his life, he successfully published two collections of Urdu poetry. His Urdu poetry is a true reflection of Baloch culture and Balochistan landscape. He created a new poetic taste in Urdu by bringing Balochi folk tales, romantic epics and and other poems by Mahnaz, Shah Murid and Hani, Wafa and Lori. He has represented different aspects of Baloch and changes in Baloch society.
His high final thoughts arouse the interest of the readers and capture their attention not only through poetry but also through prose. His contributions include several books, including:

Due to literary services from Attach Shad, Atta Shad Degree College Turbat, Atta Shad Academy Turbat, Atta Shad Auditorium, Idara-e-Saqafat-e-Balochistan Quetta, Atta Shad Park Turbat, Atta Shad English Language Institute Turbat, and they have been assigned to his name.
Besides his service and literary works, he had numerous opportunities to travel and present the Balochi language. He has traveled to Iran, Saudi Arabia, the United States(America), Australia, Germany, Thailand, Italy, China, the United Kingdom(UK), Denmark, Turkey, the United Arab Emirates(UAE), Oman and Singapore.
Atta Shed died on 13 February 1997 and was buried in Quetta. Atta Shad was the man who raised his voice against social oppression and Balochistan has been a victim of tribal oppression and dictatorship in recent years. He is not really with us today, but his thoughts are external and will last forever.
